The concept of home, both as a place and as a feeling, plays a central role in contemporary art. The exhibition and accompanying publication, at home, bring together over 30 worksincluding paintings, photographs, drawings, videos, sculptures, and installation by around 20 contemporary artists. The works address themes such as the dream of owning a home, the loss of a home, the housing market, the connection between living and owning a home, and the idea of home as a place of both family and loneliness. They also explore the existential human need for a place to sleep. Sometimes playful and cheerful, sometimes socially critical, and occasionally autobiographical, the works offer multi-layered perspectives on a highly relevant issue that affects us all.
